Milton mom wins $50,000 jackpot on OLG’s Crosswords game

A Milton mom is $50,000 richer after winning the top prize on the OLG’s Instant Crossword game.

Megan Almeyda said this is her first major win and she’s been playing the lottery for about 30 years.

“I play a variety of games,” she said when she was at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her windfall.

“I went to the store to buy tickets and saw there were three Crosswords left, so I decided to take them all. I went home to play them and when I scratched all 11 words, I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

“I called my daughter over immediately and had her check the ticket on the OLG app. I was in shock!”

Megan plans to pay some bills and travel with her win.

“It’s overwhelming and surreal.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Bronte Street in Milton.
