A Milton dad is $100,000 richer after being dealt a winning hand in the March 9 Poker Lotto Draw.
Tonyben Esquivel matched five of five cards to win the jackpot.
Esquivel, who works in the food industry, said this is his first big win.
“I’ve been playing for more than 20 years,” he said after picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
“When I checked my ticket at the ticket checker and saw I won $100,000, I almost screamed. My heart was pumping so fast.”
When he shared the news with his kids, they were so excited and happy.
“They said ‘You must be joking.’.”
Esquivel plans to help his kids with their education, renovate his home in the Philippines and buy a car.
“I feel like the luckiest man in Canada,” he concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Regional Road 25 in Milton.
