A web page dedicated to Milton’s climate change plan has just been launched.
The goal of the site is to share the Town’s vision on environmental planning, sustainability and conservation management with the community.
Earlier this year Milton council endorsed the 2020 Climate Change Work Plan, designed for action to protect the environment and mitigate the impacts of the changing climate.
The new web page is the first step to keeping the community informed through online content and shared activities, and includes copies of the Town’s energy and engagement plans along with educational materials.
“Residents are encouraged to check out our new web page to learn how they can join us in protecting our environment,” said Kristene Scott, Commissioner, Community Services. “Climate change action is a shared responsibility and Milton looks forward to working with residents, community groups and local businesses to keep our community green.”
The Town has been actively promoting an environmentally friendly agenda for more than 20 years and applying a green lens to projects and initiatives using specific environmental, sustainable and energy conservation strategies.
The new page can be reached through Milton.ca/environment.
