Pierre Kemeni Jr., a cornerback from Milton, has found a new college football home deep in the heart of Texas.
The 20-year-old football player announced Wednesday that he has transferred to play for the Texas State Bobcats, who play in the Sun Belt Conference. Kemeni visited the school in San Marcos, Texas on the first weekend in December after officially entering the National Collegiate Athletic Association transfer portal, which gives football players an avenue to switch to another school and team without having to sit out a full season.
Kemeni had played with the Ohio Bobcats, who are in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), for the last two seasons.

Kemeni, who is listed at six-foot-one and 200 pounds, played nine games this season for Ohio. He earned credit for 13 tackles and one pass breakup.
Texas State is the fifth-largest university in Texas, has only been competing in the top-flight Football Bowl Subdivision for 10 seasons. The Bobcats were 4-8 this season while playing in a conference whose most prominent teams include Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina and Louisiana-Lafayette.
Another Milton native, offensive lineman Evan Dick, also plays for Texas State.
