One of the most popular events on the local calendar, the Milton Fall Fair, is returning next week.
This year’s theme is Country Fun for Everyone and organizers have tried to live up to that promise with three days jam-packed with activities and events.
“This year’s fair will display areas of delicious food from our vendors, rides and live bands on Friday and Saturday evenings, a classic car show, commercial exhibits, vendors, and more,” said a spokesperson for the event.
“The Milton Fall Fair offers a unique way to celebrate and connect with rural life, providing both education and entertainment.”
Among the events are:
- Classic car show
- Demolition derby
- Truck and tractor pull
- Classic jumper horse show
- Agricultural competitions
“With roots reaching back to 1853, the concept of the Milton Fall Fair has remained relatively unchanged despite massive changes in the community and society in general. The annual event has been held on the same 26- acre parcel of land off Robert Street since 1864, when the fair turned a profit of $427.”
“Nestled in an older residential area, the fairgrounds become a showplace for all things rural for three days every September. It’s a lively celebration featuring traditional fall fair competitions like equestrian events, kids’ pet show, baby contest, truck and tractor pulls and the smashing demolition derby.”
The fair is open Friday, Sept. 22, from 3-11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets cost $15 at the gate, kids ages 5-12 are $5 and under five are free. There are also family passes and online discounts available here.
