Mattamy Homes wants to build eight new high-rises in Milton, which would bring more than 1,700 residential units to town.
A public meeting to discuss the application to rezone land on the north-west corner of Regional Road 25 and Britannia Rd. is being held at Monday’s Town Council meeting.
The new buildings would range in height from 12 to 15 stories and also include about 10,000 sq.-ft. of ground-floor commercial space.
The original public meeting was held five years ago, but discussed five six-storey buildings with 833 units. The increase development has triggered the need for new consultation with the public.
The lands are bounded by a creek corridor along the west property line and a creek corridor and stormwater management pond to the north. Britannia Rd. and Regional Road 25 form the southern and eastern boundaries of the site. Future residential lands are located on the east side of Regional Road 25.
The council meeting is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m.
