Massive art installation celebrating Halton Hills 50th anniversary to be unveiled at public event this week

A massive art installation is coming to Halton Hills as part of the municipality’s 50th anniversary.

According to a dispatch from the town’s media team last week (Oct. 3), on Thursday, Oct. 10 from around 5 to 7 pm, Halton Hills is holding an official event celebrating the contemporary painter Denitza’s commissioned work for the town’s 50th birthday celebration.

Denitza was the sole artist selected out of a pool of numerous applicants tasked with supplying the Town of Halton Hills with a piece of artwork that responded to the theme of Connected Communities — a creative incentive purpose-built to celebrate the people and places that make up Halton Hills.

Correspondence from town officials indicated that Denitza’s work is a large-scale vinyl mural that will adorn the windows of the Town Hall atrium.

“This work is truly beautiful and reflective of the many communities that define Halton Hills,” said Halton Hills Mayor Ann Lawlor in an official statement. “The Town Hall is a very appropriate place for this piece that complements our award-winning building.”

Municipal officials have noted all are welcome to attend this event, where discussions surrounding the installation will take place alongside refreshments.

The event is slated to take place at the Halton Hills Town Hall located at 1 Halton Hills Drive.
