Man shot outside Oakville home remains in hospital; suspects at large

A man remains in hospital with serious injuries after shots were fired outside his Oakville home on Saturday morning.

Halton Regional Police say the shooting happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. near Wavecrest Street and Creek Path Avenue.

A vehicle was seen approaching the residence before one man exited, confronted the victim and shot him. The suspect fled the scene in the waiting vehicle immediately after the shooting, officials say.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released additional details on the victim, including his age.

Investigators describe the suspect as a man wearing dark clothing and a mask covering the lower portion of his face. The getaway vehicle is believed to be a white compact SUV, though no make, model, or licence plate details are available.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and the Major Crime Bureau have taken over investigations. Authorities are seeking witnesses or anyone with information about the incident.

Police are also appealing to residents and drivers in the area who may have dash cam footage or surveillance images to come forward.
