Police have arrested and charged a man for numerous thefts in Burlington.
Between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1, multiple unlocked vehicles were entered on Maryvale Court and had property inside of them stolen.
Stolen items included loose change, GPS devices, debit and credit cards, sunglasses, headphones, CDs, and cigarettes.
On Sunday, Dec. 10, officers arrested 20-year-old Wayne Erik Millar of Burlington.
He has been charged with seven counts of theft under $5,000.
Police are reminding residents to avoid being a victim of this type of theft by ensuring that your unattended vehicle is locked and secure, parked in a well-lit and attended area whenever possible, and not openly displaying any valuables that may catch a thief’s attention.
“These types of occurrences are preventable if citizens would take appropriate steps to secure their belongings and lock their car doors,” said Detective Sergeant Ron Hansen.
