Teen on electric scooter hit by car at Milton plaza

Halton Regional Police say no physical injures were sustained late Wednesday afternoon when a male youth on an electric scooter was hit by a car at a Milton plaza.

The incident occurred at 4:13 p.m. in a Sobey’s parking lot located at 1035 Bronte St. S., police said.

The teenager was travelling through the parking lot on an electric scooter when he was struck. Police didn’t specify the age of the youth.

“(He was) struck by a vehicle (sedan) driven by a female driver that was turning into an aisle within the plaza parking lot,” Halton Regional Police media relations officer Jeff Dillon told INhalton.com. “No physical injuries (were) sustained.”

As the incident occurred on private property, Dillon explained there are no charges that are applicable or can be laid under the Highway Traffic Act.
