The next stage of the Britannia Rd. widening project will see Fifth Line closed to through-traffic for about two months.
Halton Region continues to improve Britannia Rd. between Regional Road 25 and Hwy. 407, widening it to six lanes to improve traffic flow.
Fifth Line will be closed south of Britannia, to Lower Base Line West, until Friday, Apr. 19.
There won’t be any disruption to waste collection, mail delivery or snow removal services.
“We will make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize the impact,” said a Region spokesperson. “Please note the closure dates are weather dependent and subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to the public in advance of the closure date.”
Local access, access to businesses, and emergency access will be maintained along Fifth Line at all times. Through vehicle traffic will be detoured along Fourth Line, Sixth Line and Lower Base Line.
Motorists should expect delays when travelling through the area.
