UPDATE: Halton police are looking for witnesses to a morning collision that sent a 70-year-old Milton man to the hospital.

Halton police said a man was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries following the accident at Thompson Road North and Maple Avenue at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.

Thompson Road North was closed in both directions between Steeles Avenue to Woodward Avenue. Maple Avenue closed from Fleming Drive to Hemlock Drive.

According to police, a white RAM 2500 pick-up truck being operated by a 51-year-old Halton Hills resident was travelling westbound on Maple Avenue. The pick-up truck made a left turn onto Thompson Road, striking a 70-year-old pedestrian who was crossing on the south side of the intersection.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are requested to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747, ext. 5065.
