Major Milton road closed a month for construction

Drivers in Milton going to have to contend with a major road that is going to be closed for more than a month, beginning Friday.

Fifth Line north of Derry Rd. will be temporarily closed so a new culvert can be constructed.

Fifth Line will be closed Sept. 15 to Oct. 20. Traffic will be detoured along Derry Rd., James Snow Pkwy. and Main St. E.

All road closures can be found using the Town of Milton’s interactive road closure map. Construction timelines are dependent on many factors, including weather.

“The Town of Milton is investing in community infrastructure to make your travel safe and accessible,” said a Town spokesperson.

“During construction, the public is encouraged to plan travel in advance, consider alternate routes, follow signage and be patient while travelling in and around construction areas.”
