Long-time British pub reopens in Burlington with new Indian flair

It’s back.
Squires Gastro Pub has officially relaunched in Burlington.
Located at 3537 Fairview Street, the pub closed in the spring to undergo renovations and rebranding (it had been known as Squires Public House) and following a soft opening in July, Squires held its grand reopening this past weekend.
A message on the Squires website earlier indicated the operators are looking forward to the new vision.
“These changes are aimed at enhancing your experience with us, ensuring that we continue to be your favourite gathering spot,” the message read.
Still serving British pub fare such as fish and chips, steak and Guinness mushroom pie, bangers and mash, and shepherd’s pie, the updated menu now includes more variety and with an Indian flare. New dishes include chimichurri fish tikka, street-style chow mein, filet mignon and New Delhi butter chicken.
The inside of the pub also has been renewed to give it a fresh, upscale look.
Saturday’s reopening included a ribbon cutting, entertainment and food specials.
The pub has existed at the location for more than 17 and has undergone a few changes, It first opened Ye Olde Squire Burlington.
“What began as a modest venue has blossomed into a beloved community cornerstone, embodying the essence of camaraderie, excellent food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere,” a message on the pub’s restaurant reads. “Our story goes beyond culinary delights; it’s about creating a space where friends and family come together to forge lasting memories.”
