Limited free bus rides start soon for Burlington youth

Young people will soon be able to ride Burlington Transit for free during certain time periods.
As of August 1, those aged 13 to 19 can ride the bus system at no charge on evenings after 6 p.m. and all day on weekends.
To use the program users must have a PRESTO card.
The program, which was announced and budgeted for by Burlington council earlier this year, comes as the City has also approved a plan to provide free around-the-clock bus transit to those aged 65 and older. The senior program also begins on August 1.
Both seniors and youth will need a PRESTO card to use the service.
PRESTO cards can be picked up at the Downtown Burlington Transit Bus Terminal at 430 John St. and at all Burlington locations of Shoppers Drug Mart.
