This summer’s Movies in the Park series in Oakville wraps up with an intergalactic adventure with legendary space ranger Buzz Lightyear.

The popular free outdoor movie series will close out the summer schedule this Wednesday night (Aug. 30) with the showing of Lightyear at Fowley Park, located at 106 Fowley Dr.

Entry and activities get underway at 6:30 p.m. with the film starting at around 8 p.m.

Local residents are encouraged to grab a picnic blanket, snacks and refreshments and enjoy Lightyear and his motley crew heading out on their toughest mission yet and work together to hold off the evil Zurg and his robot army.

The animated Walt Disney movie directed by Angus MacLane and adapted from the hit Toy Story movie grossed over $226 million US at the box office after it was released in June of last year.

The Town of Oakville’s Movies in the Park series returned to different parks across the community this summer beginning on July 19 with a free outdoor movie and family-free activities every Wednesday at a different Oakville park every until the end of August.

Other free movies on this summer’s viewing list included Raya and the Last Dragon and The Incredibles.

Residents are asked to plan ahead as parking is limited at some of the park locations. The town encourages residents to walk or bike to the movie screening in your area or take Oakville Transit.
