Milton firefighters will have some extra training supplies thanks to a donation from Enbridge Gas.
The donation, a total of $125,000 that will be split by 25 fire services in the province, is part of the Safe Community Project Assist, a program with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council that supplements existing training for Ontario volunteer and composite fire departments in the communities where Enbridge Gas operates.
“At Enbridge, safety is at the centre of everything we do and a value we live by,” said Gerry Pumphrey, manager operations, GTA West, Enbridge Gas. “We are committed to providing emergency response training support to Ontario firefighters so they can continually learn, improve, and protect the vibrant and healthy communities they call home.”
The $5,000 donation will be used by Milton Fire & Rescue Services to purchase educational materials to assist in training firefighters in life-saving techniques.
“Through Safe Community Project Assist, we are able to provide our firefighters with valuable training supports and materials aimed at enhancing skills and ultimately improving our ability to protect our growing community,” says Milton Chief Peter Gatto, Milton Fire & Rescue Services. “We are extremely thankful to Enbridge Gas and the FMPFSC for their generous support.”
Milton Fire & Rescue Services has served the community for more than150 years. The department is made up of full and part-time staff providing fire protection and emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
