Tom Cochrane is coming to Burlington.

Rocker Tom Cochrane has a date with Burlington.

A mainstay on the Canadian music scene for 40 years, Cochrane will take to the stage at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre next Tuesday, Oct. 8.

A recent inductee into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, Cochrane launched his career with the band Red Rider and then followed up as a solo performer where he has achieved global success.

Cochrane is one of only 18 Canadian artists to achieve diamond status for an album which means sales of over one million in this country. He did that with the 1991 release Mad Mad World which has gone on to sell almost two million copies worldwide.

Mad Mad World spawned the hit Life is a Highway and earned Juno Awards for album of the year, single of the year, male vocalist of the year and songwriter of the year.

When he arrives in Burlington, Cochrane won’t have to travel when he goes home. Although born in Manitoba 71 years ago, Cochrane is a long-time resident of Oakville and performs regularly in and around the GTA.

Aside from his Junos and induction into the songwriters hall of fame, Cochrnae is also an officer of the Order of Canada and has an honourary doctorate from Brandon University, and in 2009, he was inducted onto the Canadian Walk of Fame. He is regularly honoured for his humanitarian and charitable work.

A limited number of tickets are available for the Burlington show at various prices. More information can be found here.
