oakville library reopens

Oakville’s central library will reopen after flooding forced a closure earlier this week.

The Oakville Public Library Central Branch at 120 Navy St. was closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to flooding, Oakville Public Library said on its website.

The library said it will reopen on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and resume regular operating hours.

“Good news! Central Branch will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, October 17 at 9:30 am, and resume regular operating hours. Central Branch was closed on Tuesday, October 15 and Wednesday, October 16 due to flooding. Thank you for your patience,” the library said on social media.

A large humidifier unit on the roof leaked causing damage but the library’s collections are safe, according to news reports.
