Legendary Stray Cat ready to rock Burlington

His name says it all but he still has the musical pedigree to back it up.

Lee Rocker, founding member of the legendary Stray Cats, is coming to Burlington.

Known for his rollicking approach to the upright bass, Rocker has performed the world over and was recently named one of the greatest bass players of all-time by Bass Player Magazine.

Rocker formed the Stray Cats with high school pals Slim Jim Phantom and Brian Setzer in 1979 and the rockabilly sound they created merged with the burgeoning new wave musical scene and led to massive successful in throughout the 1980s.

Songs such as Rock This Town and Stray Cat Strut made it to the top of the charts and helped to sell 10 million albums and make the Stray Cats one of the most successful rock acts to come out of New York.

Since then Rocker has been consistently touring and recording performing with such luminaries as George Harrison, Carl Perkins, Keith Richards, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Ringo Starr, John Fogerty and Scotty Moore.

Rocker and his band will be performing at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC) on Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m.
