A new art project in Milton is designed for youth interested in exploring and developing their creativity while making a meaningful impact in their community is taking applications.

Colours of Change: Building a Safer Tomorrow is an interactive and collaborative art project between the town and the Milton Youth Task Force.

The project will bring together local youth ages 13 to 18 and team them up with a local professional artist with an interest in inspiring and supporting youth.

They will collaboratively create a large-scale mural to be displayed in the Milton Sports Centre, which will display their sense of belonging and visibility in their community.

Youth participants will receive hands-on experience in the design and process of creating public art. Selected youth will be invited to attend three workshops this fall and early winter to develop the design concept.

All workshops are free, and no prior art experience is required. You can apply here.

This call for professional artists is aimed at those living within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area community. Artists with demonstrated experience working with youth, and connections to Milton will be given priority.

An artwork proposal is not required at this time. Apply here.
