Update: Lanes closed on QEW for police investigation in Oakville

Lanes were closed on the QEW due to a police investigation in Oakville.
Traffic was getting through on the HOV lane only on the Niagara-bound QEW at Bronte Road early this morning.
The highway lanes were closed for a Halton Regional Police investigation, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a post just before 6 a.m. today (Sept. 12).
Just before 9 a.m., the lanes were reopened.
Halton Regional Police tell inHalton that the incident began when officers attempted to stop a vehicle after a call for suspicious activity at a car dealership in the area of Kerr Street and Wyecroft Road in Oakville around 4:20 a.m.
Officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, however, the driver did not stop, police said.
The driver lost control and struck a guardrail on the QEW near Bronte Road.
Three people were arrested from the vehicle and minor injuries were sustained.
The SIU has not invoked its mandate, police said.
Reports and photos from the scene indicate a black pick up truck went off the highway.
The Toronto-bound QEW was not impacted.
