Lakeshore Road temporarily closed in Oakville due to person in crisis: Police

Police say Lakeshore Road has reopened following the resolution of an investigation involving a person in crisis.

On the morning of Jan. 22, Halton police took to social media to announce Lakeshore was closed between Kerr Street and Chisholm Street in Oakville.

At the time, residents were asked to avoid the area, 

Police told residents they were still responding to the individual’s situation before 11 a.m. but said there was no “ongoing risk to public safety” and that the incident was confined to “a specific area.” 

Police announced that the road was reopened shortly before noon. 

“This investigation is now complete and Lakeshore Road has reopened,” police wrote on X.
