The Korean hot dog restaurant with more than 500 locations around the world has opened its doors in Milton.

Arirang Hotdog, which features exotic corndogs on a stick, has opened its doors at 252 Main St. E. at Charles St.

Founded in Korea in 2014, the company has spread quickly with locations in China, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

The first Canadian locations opened last year in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary, and now Milton has joined the list.

Arirang is a hotdog restaurant like most people have never seen before, kicking up the humble wiener beyond mustard, ketchup and relish.

While the basic coating is typically corndog, the dressings and fillings include various types of cheeses, poutine, beef, sausage, Oreo cookie, Cheetos and chicken nuggets.

Plus, there are a variety of unusual sauces from which to choose.

“Crispy, yet chewy. Both sweet and salty. a very unique taste, nothing quite like it,” said one reviewer. “You can even mix them all together. It’s very customizable.”

As well, croquettes can be customized and come with fillings such as chicken, curry and red bean.
