Scammers target hydro customers in Oakville

Oakville Hydro has recently released a public warning concerning an active scam where fraudsters are impersonating company personnel.
Today (August 2) Oakville Hydro posted on X (formerly Twitter) urging Oakville residents to be cautious when receiving phone calls from the utilities provider.
The post indicated that “fraudulent callers are demanding immediate payment to avoid disconnection.”

Representatives for the organization are telling residents that, in the event of a suspicious phone call, they contact Oakville Hydro directly, to confirm the validity of any claims made on behalf of would-be scammers.
