Huge fire forces residents to evacuate building in Milton

A large structure fire that closed a road in Milton has been extinguished, authorities announced tonight (Nov. 1).

Milton Fire and Halton Regional Police Service asked people to avoid the area near McGeachie Drive.

They said no one was injured and all residents evacuated the building. The fire was fully extinguished just before 6 p.m.

Authorities said the fire was contained to a rooftop heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit and police will be opening McGeachie Drive soon.

Authorities didn’t immediately provide more details.
