A public meeting to discuss a proposed housing complex in Burlington takes place tonight (July 10).

Slated for 688 to 698 Brant St. south of Olga Dr., the project calls for an 11-storey mixed-use building with street-level retail stores along the main street with 12, two-store townhomes in the rear of the complex.

The meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of Burlington City Hall at 426 Brant St. You can also watch the meeting online by following this link and clicking on the video for tonight’s planning meeting.

A total of 305 residential units will be created if the project comes to fruition.

The redevelopment of the site will see the elimination of three low-rise structures.

A pre-proposal community meeting was held last September, but the builder has now officially filed an application to proceed.

The project still has to go through several steps of approvals before construction begins.
