A fire at an Oakville home sent three to hospital and claimed the life of a pet cat.
According to reports, firefighters arrived at the scene near Upper Middle Road and Sixth Line just before midnight yesterday (Jan. 7) where they found flames shooting from the house.
A woman and two children who live in the home managed to make it out safely but were taken to hospital and treated for possible smoke inhalation.
A pet cat died at the scene.
Fire department reports indicate crews were able to contain the blaze in the basement area of the home.
The cause of the fire is not considered suspicious but investigators are still looking into the cause.
