Hot temperatures will keep outdoor pools open in Oakville

With temperatures expected to rise into next week, the Town of Oakville will keep some outdoor pools open longer than usual.

Typically, the pools close after Labour Day but with temperatures expected to reach into the 30 Celcius zone, the pools will provide the opportunity to cool.

Drop-in swims will be available on:

  • Monday, Sept. 4 at Brookdale Pool, 1215 Bridge Rd. starting with lane swimming (lengths) from noon to 1:30 p.m. and leisure swims from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and again at 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 5 at Bronte Pool, 2184 Hixon St., leisure swim from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and both leisure and lane swimming (combo swim) from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Bronte Pool, 2184 Hixon St., leisure swim from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and both leisure and lane swimming (combo swim) from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 7 at Bronte Pool, 2184 Hixon St., leisure swim from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and both leisure and lane swimming (combo swim) from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

To reserve your spot, visit the Drop-in Programs page.  Walk-ins are also welcome based on capacity. If you have a Summer Fun Pass, it can be used until September 10.

Splash pads will remain open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Sept. 7.
