Holiday safety tips being shared by Oakville firefighters at skating events

Don’t be surprised if you see an Oakville firefighter at an upcoming recreational ice skating events in town.

Members of the Oakville Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Team will be at several upcoming events to share tips on how to stay fire safe during the holidays and beyond.

Here are some upcoming events where firefighters will be appearing:

• Dec. 18, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, 3070 Neyagawa Blvd.
• Dec. 19, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Glen Abbey Community Centre, 1415 Third Line
• Dec. 20, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, 3070 Neyagawa Blvd.
• Dec. 27, 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Trafalgar Park Community Centre, 133 Rebecca St.
• Dec. 29, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trafalgar Park Community Centre, 133 Rebecca St.
• Jan. 3, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at River Oaks Community Centre, 2400 Sixth Line

Members of the Fire Prevention Team will share tips about candles, Christmas trees, decorations and entertaining.
