High winds force closure of all conservation areas in Milton, Burlington, Oakville

With high winds expected in the area today, Conservation Halton has decided to close all its parks on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Burlington, Milton, Oakville and Halton Hills.
“Today will be cloudy with 40 per cent chance of rain showers this morning. Rain showers beginning near noon then changing to flurries or ice pellets this afternoon. Risk of a thunderstorm this morning. Wind southwest 20 km/h, gusting to 40, becoming west 40 gusting to 70, near noon. High 12 with temperature falling to minus 2 this afternoon.”
The conservation areas affected by the closure are:
- Crawford Lake
- Hilton Falls
- Kelso Main Entrance
- Kelso Summit
- Mount Nemo
- Mountsberg
- Rattlesnake Point
