Niagara-bounds lanes on the Burlington Skyway will be closed to all traffic tonight (Oct. 21).

The lanes will be closed starting at 9:30 p.m. and reopen again tomorrow (Oct. 22) at 11 a.m.

The lane closures are part of ongoing maintenance on the bridge which has been carried out on an irregular basis since the beginning of July.

As part of the lane closes, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will also be shutting down several ramps:

  • All lanes on QEW Fort Erie-bound, beyond Northshore Blvd./ Hwy 2 to the south of the Burlington Skyway will be closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie-bound from Northshore Blvd./Hwy 2 southbound will be fully closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie-bound from Plains Rd. southbound will be fully closed
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie-bound from Fairview St. southbound will be fully closed
  • QEW Niagara-bound Collector Lane split at Eastport Dr. (north-south ramp, north of the canal), will be closed

The MTO says closure times are subject to change which has happened frequently for the past several months.
