A family-friendly Halloween event good for younger kids is being held at a Milton park.

Mountsberg Conservation Area’s Spooktacular Halloween runs runs Friday to Sunday evenings from 4:30-10:00 p.m. until Oct. 27.

“Spooktacular is a unique Halloween experience that blends haunted fun with education, offering a chance to learn about the environment and wildlife,” said a spokesperson for Conservation Halton.

“We encourage you to come in costume and capture your memories at one of our Halloween photo stations.”

Among the events are:

  • Case of the Missing Pumpkins scavenger hunt for tasty Halloween treats
  • A trip through the haunted barn
  • An illuminated forest Night Walk Trail
  • A guest appearance from the Mountsberg snakes and owls
  • Visiting farm animals at the barn
  • Campfires
  • Playing in the natural playground
  • Guests can also pre-register for:
  • Wagon ride with a ghostly driver through the deep, dark woods.
  • Hot drinks and s’mores
  • Sweets, treats, and kettle corn from KabZza Canada.

“There are no ‘jump scares’ at Spooktacular, but we recommend you come prepared with flashlights to help navigate dark areas. Furry friends are welcome to attend the event, excluding wagon rides.”

The Case of the Missing Pumpkins Scavenger Hunt is a new event this year.

“Aliens have crashed their Starship at Mountsberg and we need your help to get them home in time for Halloween.

“Meanwhile, Professor P. Dunkel, Radiation Specialists, and Dr. Brian Le Cerveau, DNA Specialist, have been working hard on a secret project to increase the size of pumpkins. Their research and advanced technology may be the key in helping our intergalactic visitors return to their planet.

“Join Lead Detective, Enola O’Butternut, on our scavenger hunt to become an official Mounstberg junior detective and help us crack the Case of the Missing Pumpkins.”
