Update: ‘Heavy police presence’ near Burlington Centre; investigation underway

The presence of law enforcement officers continues in the area following reports of a man with a firearm. No injuries have been reported so far.
Several Halton Regional Police officers have responded to an ongoing investigation close to a Burlington shopping mall.
Police put out a tweet around 8 p.m. today (June 27) stating that there is a “heavy police presence” in the area of Dynes Road and Prospect Street, an intersection close to Burlington Centre.
“The situation is currently contained and there is no known imminent threat to public safety,” police said in a tweet.
Authorities have not yet released any information surrounding the police presence and the reason behind it.
