A Vaughan man who evaded police after removing an ankle monitor has been re-arrested by Halton police.

Ryan Gentles, 31, was arrested by Halton police officers yesterday, Feb. 22. Gentles had previously been released on bail and is awaiting a sentencing hearing for human trafficking charges which he previously pled guilty to.

Gentles has now been charged with three counts of failure to comply with a release order, and failure to comply with judicial non-communication order.

He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Gentles, 31, also known as Grizzy Gwop, was arrested in Vaughan on Sept. 1, 2022. He was charged with human trafficking, making profit from human trafficking, and four counts of assault.

He ultimately pled guilty to these crimes late last year and was released on bail pending a sentencing hearing. He was forced to wear an ankle monitor but recently cut it off.
