Trucker headed wrong way on Ontario highway charged with dangerous driving

The Town of Halton Hills is stepping up its fight against what it believes is an illegal truck terminal near Hornby Rd. and Steeles Ave.

The Town has filed an application for an injunction with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to direct the operators of 8029 Hornby Road and 13265 Steeles Avenue to immediately cease all activities.

At issue is the alleged use of the property for the storage of commercial motor vehicles, warehousing, the operation of a transport terminal and the violation of at least seven other Town bylaws and various violations of the Ontario Building Code Act.

According to the town, 8029 Hornby Rd. has been issued 48 Provincial Offences Act charges since 2021. They allege the transport terminal and related used have continued and expanded onto the adjoining Steeles Ave. property.

The Town is seeking a Superior Court injunction in order to bring an end these activities.
