Oakville residents will have plenty of opportunities next week to hop aboard a bus and get vaccinated.
The GO-VAXX bus, the Ontario Government’s mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic, will be making five planned stops across the town with another scheduled for the following week.
Each of the clinics will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The bulls rolls into the River Oaks Community Centre parking lot, located on 2400 Sixth Line, on Monday before heading over the next day (Nov. 23) to the Glen Abbey Recreation Centre, located on 1415 Third Line.
On Wednesday (Nov.24), it will pull into Sheridan College’s Trafalgar Road Campus, located at 1430 Trafalgar Rd. (East side Lot 1). The next day (Nov. 25) it drives over to the Trafalgar Community Centre, located at 133 Rebecca Street.
The final stop in another busy week will be on Sunday (Nov. 28) when it stops in at Oakville Town Hall, located on 1225 Trafalgar Road.
The bus schedule for the month rounds out with a stop Monday, Nov. 29 at Iroquois Ridge High School, located at 1123 Glenashton Dr., and Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Joshua’s Cree Arenas, located at 1663 North Service Rd. E.
First and second doses are available for anyone aged 12 and over in 2021 (minimum 21-day interval).
No appointment is necessary. All buses are administering Pfizer vaccine.
The GO-VAXX bus, a partnership between the provincial government and Metrolinx, provides a convenient way for people to receive their COVID-19 vaccine.
A fully functioning vaccine clinic with the necessary staff and supplies, the GO-VAXX buses are travelling to malls, festivals, community hubs and events throughout the summer and fall across the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region.
If you would like to get vaccinated at a GO-VAXX bus mobile clinic, remember to:
- bring your health card — if you do not have a health card or if it’s expired, bring another form of government-issued photo identification such as a driver’s license, passport, status card, or birth certificate
- eat and drink something before you arrive at your appointment to prevent feeling faint or dizzy while being vaccinated
- dress for the weather in case there is a line-up
- wear clothing that allows for easy access to your upper arm, such as a loose-fitting top or a t-shirt
- wear a mask that covers your nose, mouth and chin
Do not visit theGO-VAXXbus if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
