Significant delays were expected on the Lakeshore West GO Train line on Wednesday night.

GO Transit said it “received a report of a person struck by a train near Bronte GO” in Oakville. As a result, the 5:13 p.m. westbound train, and all subsequent trains in both directions between Union Station in Toronto and the West Harbour GO station in Hamilton, will not be able to pass through Bronte until the situation is fully investigated.

“We expect it will take an extended period of time before we can return to our regular service,” GO Transit says.

Service was temporarily modified. Trains continued to run between Oakville GO and Union Station, as well as West Harbour GO and Appleby GO. Buses are running between GO’s Appleby (platform 9), Bronte GO (platform 9) and Oakville (platform 6) stations.

Update

Regularly scheduled service resumed around 9:40 p.m. with “minor delays.”
