Georgetown Fall Fair returning to Halton Hills this weekend

Georgetown’s annual Fall Fair is coming back to Halton Hills this weekend.

New this year is a car show with $1,000 prize going to best-in-show. Participants can register in-person for the free event from 8:30 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10.

The rair gets underway tomorrow, Friday Sept. 8, from 4 to 11 p.m. On Saturday it will be open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Other highlights of the annual event include plenty of vendors, rides and great good. A demolition derby is set for Saturday night at 6 p.m.

This year’s musical acts include a pair of tribute bands. Hotel California will perform plenty of Eagles songs on Friday night. Saturday night will see The Larry Melton Band, as well as the Practically Hip, belting out the best of The Tragically Hip.

For the kids, JoJo the Clown will be on hand making balloon animals while, for the older kids, Heatwave Blacksmithing will be giving demonstrations.

The beer tent will be open Friday 4-11 p.m., Saturday noon-11 p.m. and Sunday noon-5 p.m.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for kids ages 8 to 17. Admission is free for children under the age of seven. Parking costs $10. The fairgrounds are located at 1 Park Ave.
