Funding still available for community projects in Oakville, Milton, Burlington

If you have a plan to address community safety and well-being needs in Oakville, Burlington, Milton or Halton Hills, Halton Region might have the funds you need.

The Halton Region Community Investment Fund (HRCIF) enhances the health, safety and well-being of Halton residents through funding to non-profit human service programs and initiatives.

“The HRCIF supports a holistic response to human service needs and is part of Halton’s approach to Community Safety and Well-Being planning. Proposals that demonstrate collaborative approaches to address community needs are encouraged,” said a Region spokesperson.

Organizations that meet eligibility criteria can apply to two categories of funding.

The first category provides funding to human service programs and initiatives that enhance the health, safety and well-being of Halton residents for short-term, small capital or innovative projects.

Grants are awarded up to a maximum of $30,000 for up to one year. Non-profit, charitable and unincorporated community groups may apply.

The second category provides up to three years of funding to human service programs and initiatives that enhance the health, safety and well-being of Halton residents.

Applicants must be a registered charity to apply.

Although the main application process has closed for 2024, additional HRCIF applications will be accepted to respond to community needs, including issues identified through Halton’s Community Safety and Well-Being initiative.

Applications will be reviewed about every two months until all funding has been allocated.
