‘Free compost day’ to take place in Georgetown

A “free compost day” will be taking place in Georgetown this weekend.
In celebration of Earth Day, Halton Hills residents are being invited to drop by the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre, located at 11620 Trafalgar Rd. this Saturday (Apr. 30) to pick up free compost and woodchips.

“Bring your own shovel and container for free compost and woodchips this Saturday at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre,” wrote the Town of Halton Hills on Twitter.
“Adding compost and woodchips to your garden conserves water, helps stormwater management, prevents erosion and promotes healthy plant growth.”
Residents who are interested in picking up free compost and woodchips may do so on Apr. 30 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
