Free arts and culture events coming to three venues in Milton

There will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate Culture Days in Milton beginning this weekend.

“We’re thrilled to invite you to this year’s celebration of creativity and community with our theme: World Dance,” said a Town spokesperson.

“Prepare to be swept off your feet as we embark on a journey through diverse dance traditions from around the globe. This year’s festivities will be more vibrant than ever, with a range of events and activities that celebrate the rich cultural tapestry that makes Milton truly unique.”

Culture Days is a national celebration that brings millions of people together to participate in thousands of free arts and culture events across the country.

Every September and October, communities come alive and Arts Milton has been bringing Culture Days to Milton for the past 15 years. This year, Culture Days runs from Saturday, Sept. 21, to Sunday, Oct. 13.

World Dance will be the heart of this year’s Culture Days, featuring an exciting lineup of events.

Culture Days at the FirstOntario Arts Centre is Sept. 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dance and visual arts come together in a breathtaking exhibition that’s sure to captivate your senses. The Gallery opening at noon is your chance to meet the talented artists who bring this dynamic interplay to life.

Culture Days at the Library is Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Culture Days at the Sports Centre is Oct. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Last year, Culture Days presented by Arts Milton ranked fourth nationally among mid-sized cities and earned a sixth place ranking nationally overall for the sheer number of activities offered.

It also won three Spotlight Awards, Best Collaborative Program, and runner-up for the People’s Choice Award.
