Flooding forces closure of Oakville Library

Residents looking to drop into the Oakville Public Library’s (OPL) Central Branch on Tuesday (Oct. 15) will have to visit another branch.

Due to overnight flooding, the branch, at 120 Navy St, was closed Monday overnight.

“We are actively assessing the damage and will provide updates as soon as possible,” the OPL said on social media. “Thank you for your understanding and patience.”

The nearest branches open include:

  • Oakville Public Library, Clearview Branch, 2860 Kingsway Dr. (3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)
  • Oakville Public Library, Glen Abbey Branch (Glen Abbey Community Centre), 1415 Third Line, (9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
  • Oakville Public Library, White Oaks Branch, 1070 McCraney St. E, (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
  • Oakville Public Library, Iroquois Ridge Branch (Iroquois Ridge Community Centre), 1051 Glenashton Dr. (9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
  • Oakville Public Library, Woodside Branch, 1274 Rebecca St., (9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
  • Oakville Public Library, Sixteen Mile Branch, 3250 Neyagawa Blvd, (12 p.m. to 8 p.m.)
