Five Youths Charged in Oakville Robberies

Five young offenders are facing charges in connection with a pair of robberies in Oakville — one at knifepoint.

Five young offenders are facing charges in connection with a pair of robberies in Oakville — one at knifepoint.

Halton police responded to separate robberies involving similar suspect and vehicle descriptions. Both incidents took place on May 28, 2017.

The first robbery was at Chisholm St. and Walker St., near Tannery Park, after 8:40 p.m.

That’s when several victims reported being approached by five suspects.

One suspect allegedly pulled a knife and ordered the victims to turn over their cell phones and bags.

The victims refused and as they left the area, a rock was thrown at their car by a different suspect, causing minor damage to the vehicle.

Police later responded to the Glen Abbey Library at 1415 Third Line for another robbery.

This time, the victim reported being confronted by several suspects, who stole a bag containing soccer shoes and a soccer ball.

The victim managed to get a partial licence plate of their vehicle.

Investigators have identified all five suspects, making arrests on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.

An 18-year-old female  – who was 17 at the time of the offences – is facing two counts of robbery and mischief under $5,000.

Three youths – two boys and one girl – are facing two counts of robbery.

A boy is charged with two counts of robbery and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Their names are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
