The annual Fill A Crib campaign is being held again this year by the Milton Community Resource Centre.

Started in 2017, the goal is provide MCRC’s infant food bank with essential supplies and food to support local impoverished, at-risk and vulnerable families.

“With food insecurity and inflation on the rise, we are helping a record number of babies,” said a spokesperson for the organization. “Compared to 2020, there been an increase of 55 per cent of families coming to us in need of diapers, formula, baby food and menstrual supplies.”

More than 160 babies use the infant food bank each month and the organization relies on the support of the community to help fill as many cribs as possible.

The most needed items are:

  • Diapers sizes 4, 5, 6
  • Baby food and cereal
  • Powdered formula: Enfamil A+, Similac, Good Start
  • Baby wipes
  • Menstrual pads
