Faster internet will bring traffic disruptions to a key part of Burlington

There’s some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that Burlington is working towards upgrading high-speed internet in the downtown core.

The bad news is there is going to be a month-long disruption of traffic and inconveniences for pedestrians to do it.

The City says the work will commence on Monday (Jan. 29) and continue for four weeks.

Construction work will require some sidewalk closures and lane restrictions which will disrupt traffic flow.

Areas that will be affected include:

• James Street
• Pearl Street
• Caroline Street
• Ontario Street
• Locust Street

All businesses will remain open during construction.
