Today is jam-packed for Burlington, as two major events are taking place to celebrate the city’s ongoing Heritage Week.
To kick things off, the Burlington Public Library is hosting a family history event to guide Burlington residents down their family trees.
The Heritage Week “Genealogy Basics” program will give local individuals the tools to apply basic research strategies to online genealogical resources and family history data.
The program will run today from 2 pm to 3:30 pm.
For those looking to discover the great outdoors of their city, the “Burlington Heights Walk” event may be just what you are looking for.
This 90-minute guided walk will showcase the natural and cultural significance of the Burlington Heights landscape — and more specifically — explain why the entire outdoor locale has been designated a National Historic Site.
City officials have indicated that this event has a 20-person maximum and that pre-registration is available online.
The event is anticipated to kick off at 6 pm at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington.
