A tree expert will be in Halton Hills to discuss the effects of climate change on local trees and forests later this month.
Jenny Liu, the an agroforestry specialist at Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), will talk about some management tactics people can take to bolster the resilience of local trees.
This lecture will also include a discussion on some of the scary invasive species that are just on the other side of our borders. It’s expected you’ll leave this talk armed with knowledge and just the right amount of paranoia to take action if you see them.
In her role at OMAFRA, Liu provides technical knowledge, conducts applied research, and advocates for stakeholder industries internally within the ministry with regards to policy and research funding priorities.
The lecture is being held at Halton Public Library’s John Elliott Theatre, 9 Church St. in Georgetown, on March 28 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. For tickets, visit the John Elliott Theatre box office.
