It wasn’t a good day (Aug. 2) for an instructor and a driving student along the streets of Burlington.
Not only did the student fail their driving test, but on the way back from the DriveTest Centre, Halton police pulled the instructor over for speeding.
“Couldn’t make this up if we tried,” wrote Halton police in an online post.
Police went on to explain that the instructor was clocked going 85 km/h in a 50 lm/h zone near the beach on Lakeshore Rd.
“The student was in the passenger seat, having just failed a driving test,” police said
The speeder was given a $265 ticket as well as collecting four demerit points. Demerit points stay on a driver’s record for two years from the date of the offence. If you collect enough points, you can lose your driver’s licence.
In cases of this type police do not release the names of those who have been ticketed.
