Drivers in Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills who use Trafalgar Road should get ready to deal with a long-term construction project.

But it’s probably still a couple of years away.

The next step in the planning for the project is a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study that will consider a wide range of multi-modal transportation improvements including roadway widening, cross-sectional requirements, active transportation, transit-supportive infrastructure, intersection improvements, and overall traffic operations.

The impacts of the transportation improvements on the social, cultural, and natural environments will be assessed and evaluated through the study.

The plan calls for Trafalgar Road to undergo a massive set of improvements between Steeles Ave. in Halton Hills, through Milton, to Highway 407 in Oakville.

Planners are now looking for public feedback from interested parties, including the public and review agencies.

The first Public Information Centres aims to review and gather input on the study area’s needs and opportunities, provide background information, select the preliminary preferred solution, and outline next steps in the study.

Anyone with an interest in this study is invited to participate virtually. Members of the public can visit Halton Region’s online consultation webpage to view pre-recorded videos about the study, provide feedback through an online survey and learn more.

The online information meeting will be available here from Sept. 23 to Oct. 18.
